I do not care what colour I do not care which style maybe not the guys one, but I’m sure my husband would not say no! I do not want it for a camera bag although they are perfect for it! I want one to show off every day as my hand bag!
This is how we spent our Labour Day morning – with the Ostenfeld’s at Northshore Park. My new favourite place to take the kids. Rolling hills, the best grass ever, a rocky dry river bed, a wooden bridge, boats sailing past, the best grass ever, excellent ammenities, the best grass ever, heaps of parking, a cafe near by, a small no-swimming beach, heaps of bike riding and scootering track, oh and did I mention, the. best. grass. ever???!!! I could talk about the grass all day! The big kids (including Shane and Marc) played hard for almost three hours while Nic and I took photos, cuddled Ella, picked kids up off the ground and generally supervised. There is enough space that all the kids could scoot and ride around without getting in any trouble, the open spaces are huge, and there’s enough room to have a game of cricket or soccer or fly a kite. Next time, we will take a sausage or two and stay for a BBQ lunch I think!
Poor, poor Ella. She is such a third child! Today the boys and I took her to get her 8 weeks injections and check up. But she’s more than 8 weeks old, isn’t she? Yes. Yes, she is. Ella is now 10 weeks old. Yep. I completely forgot about babies needing injections at 8 weeks! Ella is also 7kg neat and 65cm long. Dr Keith could tell she was nice and healthy by the quantity of fat roles she is sporting. She is affectionately known as: Fatty or Chubby (you can see why) or Ella Bella, or Emily (if I’m having one of those days!). This one is a wriggler. Ella is not one to sit still on your lap but she is more than happy to wriggle on your lap for any length of time. She is a nosey thing too. She is constantly looking around and is very alert, even trying to hold her head up so as not to miss someone coming or going from her sight. She is smiling a whole lot. This is mainly due to her two brothers. For some reason, she saves her biggest smiles for Owen and Reuben. It’s a little bit cute :) Reuben and Ella are ganging up on us, their parents. Over the last couple of weeks these two have kept Marc and I on our toes, not only during the day but over night too. Owen is smart and is staying way out of things by sleeping through anything and everything that these two littlest people can throw his, and our way during the night. Seriously. Take last night for instance. Everything was fine and dandy in the Harvey household until about 10:00pm. It was then the small night terrors, more commonly referred to as Reuben and Ella, began their shenanigans. Tag teaming their way through yet another restless night of teething from Reuben and snuffly nose from Ella. It wasn’t until, oh, about 2:30am that I decided, in my sleep deprived wisdom, that maybe poor Reuben needed a good old dose of our favourite medicine, Neurofen, and a drink of milk to settle him down for what was left of the night. It worked! Yeah, I know. Four hours ealier would have been smarter and better…! The other one however, well you can’t do too much for a snotty nosed 9 week old now, can you? Nope. And all the while, Owen is completely unaware that his siblings are keeping everyone up most of the night! This is what Ella and Reuben look like right now. Pity I could take similar pictures last night!
These two are, for the most part, like peas in a pod. They now have their very special super cool soccer uniform (Owen’s words), and you can’t tell who is who on Team Yellow. Seriously. Normally I could tell Owen and Zac apart in a shopping centre playground, full of feral kids and screaming parents. Blindfolded. Not a hope of telling your kid apart from the next when they all wear this outfit. Think red camouflage… Even though they are in a paddock of bright green… Or Christmas maybe… Makes them look so cute, running around like the maniacs they tend to become when let loose on the field though :) Owen began his soccer career at Albany Hills Excelsior on Saturday morning, which meant that I became a Soccer Mum. Yep. Me. Not a hat that ever really crossed my mind as one that I would wear. It’s a good fit though. Kindy Soccer is fun, not to mention FUNNY! Owen was, as he usually is, very enthusiastic and even managed to listen to his coach (for the most part) for the hour that the kids ran around like little crazy people. He made a big (good) impression on his coach, who happens to be the ACE head coach – nice! Next Saturday they will all get their soccer gear, and look all cute and professional… Owen advises us that he can’t wait to look like part of the winning team, that will be getting a gold medal… GO YELLOW TEAM!!!!
The rules are simple:
My little sister and I are lucky enough to be included in this exclusive group that celebrated Jenny’s birthday last week by having high tea. The service was great, high tea was simply delicious and, as always, the company was just lovely! Since moving back to QLD, Jenny’s birthday is the first of these Birthday Deal’s I’ve attended. The verdict so far: the Birthday Deal is good! Can’t wait for Kay’s and my birthdays in April to roll around!!! |
