4 weeks old and 27 years old today!

This one is four weeks old today…

~~~
And this one (Jode, not Mum!) is twenty-seven today!
Happy Birthday to you, Little Sister :o)
Dressing up. Owen style.
New People - an update
That’s what I’m calling the ladies that I met at the library the other week.  Mainly because acquaintance sounds too formal, and friend is too familiar for only having been on one “date” so far :o)
Anyway, this morning I met my new people - Katrina and Laura - at Tunz of Fun in Castle Towers for a play and a chat.  A fast two hours later, after much talking by the girls and lots of playing by the kids, it was time to leave.  But not without making another date to catch up in the near future.
My new people will fast become friends I think.  They are a great bunch (kids included) and fun to hang out with, not to mention easy to talk to and above all they are NORMAL!!!  Well, as normal as we Harvey’s get anyway!  I can’t wait to meet my new people again soon :o)
My new favourite thing!
This is Reuben in my new favourite thing in the entire Baby World Of Stuff - my Bubba Moe sling!
It is so comfortable to wear and has made the arsenic hours (anywhere between 4 and 7pm) at our house almost non existent.  Today I even braved a trip to the shops wearing Reuben in the sling and it was great!  He slept while Owen and I were able to walk around and check out different things without having to pram it or kill my arms or back carrying the baby for 2 hours.
Catching up. And procrastinating.
I am slowly catching up on replying to emails, reading people’s blogs (sometimes commenting), paying bills online, downloading photos, etc.
Basically doing all those things that require me to sit on the couch, half-watch Oprah and warm my thighs with my laptop.
By doing the above mentioned tasks, I’m not getting any washing, ironing, tidying, cooking, folding, filing, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning, etc done.
I can’t do not want to do it all at once!
Maybe some of that other stuff will get done tomorrow.  I don’t want to commit to too much you know ;o)
There’s always another day to do the boring stuff!
Monday’s socks
Auntie Kristy and Uncle Gerrod sent Reuben these beautiful little socks.
One colourful pair for every day of the week.
I think they are perfect of parents of newbies - to help them remember what day it is, or should be :o)
Oh, and just because I haven’t posted a photo of Reuben for a few days - here’s all of him showing off his socks!
Genius… or not?
I’m not sure - either way!
This is how Marc decided to soak two of Reuben’s dummies last night.
At least it got the job done :o)
Eyes open!
While this new boy is a great feeder and sleeper (9:30pm through to 3am and then up again at 5am) it’s very rare to catch him with his eyes open when I have the camera ready!
Me and my dog
This is a kid who has never shown any interest in his huge collection of stuffed toys, but over the last few months this black Labrador puppy has become one of Owen’s favourite things to sleep with, besides the piles of books and Lego and a helicopter and a water bottle… the list goes on!
I’m here, just not answering the phone. Much.
Every single time I just sit down with Reuben and get him all sorted for a feed (he likes to grizzle and muck around), a phone rings.  Of course, this only happens when I’m home alone with one or both of the boys.  Sometimes Owen is allowed to answer it - if I can see the number before he hits any buttons - but usually I can’t so the call goes unanswered.
Reuben, from my point of view
So, if you’re trying to call and never get an answer, please don’t worry :)
I’ve just got my hands full and can’t grab the phone in time!  But please leave me a message and I will call back as soon as I can.  Or Owen will.  Promise :o)
