I do not care which style

maybe not the guys one, but I’m sure my husband would not say no!

I do not want it for a camera bag

although they are perfect for it!

I want one to show off every day as my hand bag!

In case you have no idea what we have been doing or why we have seemingly disappeared off the face on the Internet world, we have been making some rather large changes. 

• We have moved states recently. Very recently in fact. Like last week.  Last week was a long week…!
• We have moved into our new house. An email with contact details is coming. I promise.
• Christmas is just around the corner and we have been preparing for the Silly Season, mainly by catching up with friends and family.
• Unpacking.  Lots and lots of unpacking.
• Christmas shopping.
• Organising to get the whole right side of the Suzi repaired. Call it a parting gift from Sydney…   Luckily no one was hurt and the car is still drivable… And that it wasn’t our fault!
• AND Marc started his new job with sanofi aventis, doing handover in Sydney for two weeks and now starting in Brisbane this week.

We don’t seem to do these sorts of things by half…!!!

Multi-tasking Reuben

The attempt to pack up the boys’ playroom is not going well… As soon as you put something into a box, it’s back out again before you have time to blink!

Today, Owen and I have been in NSW for a whole year.

A whole year…..

12 months…

365 days…

Some days/weeks it feels like we have been here forever (well, for a long time anyway) and it really does feel like our home.  These are the good weeks.  The ones where preschool is good, the boys are behaving themselves, we have been out and about with friends, or we have had a few activities during the week, and not stuck at home with no excuses to go far.

Then there are those days/weeks where it feels like we are still the strangers down here.  These are the bad ones.  But they are getting fewer and farther between, thankfully.  This is mainly because we have made some really great friends since we have been here.

Of our new friends, half are newbies to NSW, just like us!  And we all seem to help each other settle into life in NSW.  Having friends in the same situation as our family has been great.  And these friends all mostly have young children too.  Children really do help adults to make connections that we would have otherwise missed out on!

While this is not our true home (we will always be QLDers – even Reuben!!!) we are all happy enough to call Rouse Hill home for the time being…

Hopefully the next year will be as interesting as the last!

I cannot walk past the laptop without checking to see if it’s my turn in one of the many games I’ve got on the go at any given time.

After the kids are in bed and there is something sufficiently crappy on TV, you’ll find me sitting on the couch playing more Scrabble.

Am I learning anything new?  Only if you count all the weird ‘non-words’ that Scrabble lets you have…

Am I improving any skills I already have?  Unlikely!  Unless you count learning more and more the above mentioned ‘non-words’…

Does it cost me anything (other than my time)?  Nope, so it can’t be that bad!

Right?!

Basically doing all those things that require me to sit on the couch, half-watch Oprah and warm my thighs with my laptop.

By doing the above mentioned tasks, I’m not getting any washing, ironing, tidying, cooking, folding, filing, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning, etc done.

I can’t do not want to do it all at once!

Maybe some of that other stuff will get done tomorrow.  I don’t want to commit to too much you know ;o)

There’s always another day to do the boring stuff!

But don’t worry, it’s all under control.  Mick and Jode have a working keyboard now.  Thank goodness.  I don’t think Mick would be wanting to hand in any of his uni assignments in this format!
