We now have a house to move into! And we should be there by approximately the 10th December! Hooray!

Better let the removalist people know now…

So. Marc is starting his new job on Monday. With Sanofi-Aventis.

He’s doing 2 weeks down here as handover and then is having a week off to get to Brisbane (and to fit in a long weekend at the V8s in Sydney!!!). He starts again at their new Consumer Division head office in Virginia on the 14th of December.

And then it will be no time at all before Christmas comes around and he has a few days off over the festive period!

It’s a tough life, isn’t it?!

Well this is week was this little family’s first week back to reality after a nice long stretch of holidays.

Marc was away on conference from Sunday afternoon until this afternoon and Owen and I went back to our usual work/Nana’s place routine. We have had a huge week at CBC this week, and to add into the mix, we are all expecting Grant to not be there each morning as Cath is now overdue with baby number 2.

Wednesday night I had my first PT session in about 3 months. It was great – yesterday I was sore, but I’m paying for it even more today! Back again next week though, for more <strike>punishment</strike>!

How was your week?

After four days in Sydney it’s really good to be back in town. The thing I always hate about conferences, is that you go to nice places, stay in nice hotels, go to different places for dinner, but never actually get time to see the sights.

In the last year I have been to Sydney, probably 8 times, this week was the first I actually made it to the city, but still didn’t see a lot of it. We saw a little as we drove down copious amounts of one way streets to get places that would have been quicker to walk to, but not your normal tourist places. We walked through the rocks on the way back to the hotel a few times but that was about it. Oh well, better than going to awful places and having plenty of time with nothing to do I suppose.

The highlight really is just in catching up with all the guys from other states for a drink or two and a good laugh. At the end of the day there are much worse things to be doing!!

BTW: New photos of Owen from June are now in the photo gallery.

It’s definitely coming into winter – all three of us have the dreaded cold :( Marc was feeling it pretty bad at the beginning of the week – enough so that he cancelled his week in Rockhampton. Driving for a whole day feeling crappy and then having to speak to people isn’t exactly ideal when you’re not even feeling up to moving off the couch!Owen’s not so bad, just a runny nose, but he’s cut through another couple of teeth as well this week so hasn’t been his normal happy self either.

I have had very special treatment from Cath and Grant – I think they have been feeling very sorry for me, and my funny voice and sniffily nose! We have had magic green juice (don’t know exactly what was in it, but surprisingly it tasted pretty good) to make the germs disappear and Grant wanted me to eat RAW GARLIC. Is he crazy? My hand goes up for the yes vote! But he says it does you wonders… I think I’ll stick to the tablet form, but thanks very much all the same :)

Because of Easter Monday and school holidays etc, work has been a little bit quiet this week for me (Grant, on the other hand, has had heaps to do!) – only 1.5 days this week, but we made the most of the lull by heading out to Hogs Breath for a belated birthday lunch. We all had the salmon on a bed of ceaser salad, and it was so good! I would be happy to recommend it the next time anyone visits’s Hogs Breath.

Not much planned for this weekend, just a quiet one we think. We do have a volley ball open day this afternoon so I’ll try and get a few action shots of everyone on the court!

It’s been a busy few days for the Harvey’s – we got Marc all packed up (including lots of running around on Saturday) and off to his week long S-P annual conference on Sunday. This year the Queenslander’s felt a bit jipped, and all the other states were excited that the conference was to be held at the Hyatt Coolum! Maybe next year it will be somewhere exciting for you Marc!

Today was my first day at work with Cathy and Grant at Complete Building Certification. It was a good first day, with lots of stuff to take in, but the test will be when I’m back there on Friday! I hope I can remember at least a few things!

To top off a very good Monday, this afternoon the Ladies: Cathy, Amelie, Carol (Cath’s Mum), my Mum, Jodie, Owen and I all hung out at Blooms for a leisurely afternoon tea.

We caught up with old/new friends Cathy, Grant and baby Amelie last night for dinner. It’s so strange reading another family’s blog for so long, and having known Cath since we were 5 year olds, losing touch when her family moved away, Marc knowing Cath at high school, and then by chance meeting up again after all these years!

One of the best bits of our night was finally getting to meet little baby Amelie. She’s such a cutie and was chatting away to us in no time :) Both Amelie and Owen weren’t having the best of nights, but when you’re in a different home with new things and people to take in, sleep in last on your list of priorities!

We had an excellent night with the Johnsen’s – it was like we just picked up where we had left off! Thanking you so much for a lovely night. And Cath, you’re cannelloni was just beautiful, thanking you for a wonderful feast :)

Oh and I nearly forgot the reason we visited – I’m going back to work! As of Monday I’m going to be doing admin work 3 days a week for Grant and Cathy’s business – Complete Building Certification!

After many changes to the time and attendance we finally had the S-P Christmas Party last night.

The venue was Oxley’s on the River, somewhere we haven’t been for quite a few years. The food was great, Meegs started with a Pumpkin Ravioli and moved onto the Chicken Breast for dinner, while I started with the Kangaroo Loin (nicknamed “Skippy” by the staff) and moved onto the New York Cut Sirloin.

After the usual gimmick Christmas presents were presented we managed to spend another hour or two sitting round having a few drinks and an all round good time. Even Meegs enjoyed herself, despite some earlier reservations.

All round a great night!
