I’ve been tagged by Cath to answer the following questions… I guess it makes for a good re-entry into (semi)regular blogging! Well that is my aim, anyway :)

What Is Your Current Obsession?
Well, internet based obsession would have to be the dreaded Facebook. As much as I hate to admit it. I’ve even got my Mum addicted!!!

I am also addicted to Masterchef Australia (along with Carla… We watch it, and dissect it via the FB chatting feature!!!). I would also like to add that Owen is also addicted to this show. We watch it together every night :o)

What Are You Wearing Today?
Jeans, 3/4 sleeve shirt and my black swingers coat over the top. Meegs2 knows the one I mean ;o)

What’s for dinner?
Not sure as yet… We have been out all day, longer than I expected…

What Would You Eat for Your Last Meal?
Roast veges with gravy and peas and beans… A T bone steak… Lots of desserts… I’ve got unlimited stomach space, right?!

What’s the Last Thing You Bought?
A pair of jeans for Owen.

What Are You Listening To Right Now?
The news. The a/c going. Owen reciting all the good things in a toy catalogue. Reuben throwing things on the floor. Just the usual really!

If you could go anywhere in the world in the next hour, where would you go?
Wynnum, Queensland. Then the rest of Brisbane! I’m missing the sunshine and what QLD calls winter :(

What do you love most about where you currently live?
The dramatic change of seasons. Oh and the ducted heating/cooling!!!!

What is your favourite colour?
Depends, I seem to buy more and more pink things for myself since we’ve had the boys, but for everything else, blues, browns and greens…

What is your favourite piece of clothing in your own wardrobe?
My pjs!

What were you doing ten years ago?
I was at uni. I was engaged to Marc. I was living at home with my Mum and Dad and Jode. I was working at Big W… I can’t really remember!

If you had $300 right now what would you spend it on?
Flights home. Have I mentioned the FREEZING temps down here???? lol

What are you going to do after this?
Going to think some more about dinner and watch Masterchef.

What inspires you?
Other Mum’s who have awesome ideas and have the drive to make them into reality.

What are your favourite films?
I don’t really have any in particular. I will watch just about anything, as long as it isn’t scary!

Who’s work/designs are you inspired by?
Ummm no one I can think of specifically. I like to see people re-use or re-purpose what they have… It’s a challenge!

Your favourite books?
Oh this is as varied as my music tastes! I will read (and enjoy) anything from a period novel to a trashy romance to a recipe book!!!

Do You Collect Anything?
Only books! I find it very very hard to let go of books… I now chanel this obsession on the boys book collection!

What makes you follow a blog?
Interesting stories, a dose of reality, great pics, informative and relevant writing…

What was the most enjoyable thing you did today?
Meeting Kay down at the marina for lunch before taking Mum and Jenny to the plane station.

What’s one thing you dream of doing?
Too many things! I can’t think of one off the top of my head!

Who’s getting tagged?

Carla, Sharon, Kristy!

Today has been the first day in a long while where I’ve been home alone for a block of time (well Reuben is here and asleep, but that is close enough to alone for me!) and able to sit down and catch up on some of my favourite blogs from the past month and a bit.

I had been really looking forward to this catch up time, but now it’s here, I’m not overly enthused about it.

Do I go back and read everything that has happened on every blog that I’ve missed?

Do I skim the numerous posts?

Do I just start again from today, and not play catch up?

Or… Do I just forget the whole lot altogether?

I don’t think I could completely cut off all blog reading. That would be comparable to giving up peanut m&ms… So, very unlikely! :0)

But.

Blog reading does have the ability to time suck. Badly. And really all that time spent on blogs could and SHOULD be spent doing productive things around our house or with the boys.

hmmm

Might have to think about this one for a while.

And in the meantime, I’ll keep the blog reading to a minimum and see what happens…

Oh and here’s the latest pic of the boys from this morning:

We’ve been really lazy in adding new photos of late (like the last 6 months!). The main reason for this is that our old gallery we had to FTP the photos, then add them through the gallery.

So, I decided to upgrade our gallery, then Meegs can upload the photos as well. The only catch is that anyone who was using the old site will need to re-register. The link to do this is on the right hand side of the screen. When you are logged in you will also get a random image from the gallery on the right hand side now.

To get started I have uploaded some images from October through to December. I’ll upload some more over the next week or two and then I’m sure we will keep it far more current than we had been.

Leanne from Journeyer’s Chronicles has tagged me for a Getting to Know You meme. I’m usually really slack with these and tend to leave them too late and then think it’s pointless filling them in. But I have made an effort with this one, mainly because the questions are slightly different to last last few I’ve read on other blogs.

So here goes!

What were you doing 10 years ago?

Oh that’s a hard one to start with! 1998… I was 19, going to uni, working tonnes, spending lots of my free time with Marc, ummm I have absolutely no idea what else! Can I blame my lack detail on having Baby Brain? I’m going to have to – it’s all I’ve got to give you! If only we were blogging way back then, I could just give you a few linked posts to read!!!

Five things on your to do list

Bug Marc about getting his tax done.

Tidy my desk – the only free space is where my laptop sits…

Fold the seven loads of washing I’ve piled on my bed (motivation to get to see my bed by tonight!)

Make a start on the baby’s room which is kind of like a black hole for all things we haven’t found a home for as yet.

Find Owen a new bed and agree on one. Soon!

What snacks do you like?

When I’m pregnant I drink litres and litres of plain milk, but also chocolate milk, which is something I don’t drink any other time. I am a chocoholic, so there is always that option and I am always partial to a good Lady Finger banana, an Imperial mandarin and of course, any stone fruit in summer. Water is also a staple of mine and one I’d class as a snack – I know I will never, ever need to worry about not drinking the Recommended Daily Intake of 8 glasses per day :o)

What would you do if you were a billionaire?

Make sure that my family is set up for the rest of their lives. Sounds a bit vague I know, but what each individual and family needs/wants to have that happen is going to be different for each member of my family.

I would also donate each year to Diabetes Australia, or maybe set up some sort of research grant? I’m not sure here, but they would definitely be getting a tonne of cash their way!

Three bad habits

I procrastinate

I make rash decisions on big things that should have that second or third thought first

I eat for the sake of eating. I love to cook and I love to eat… :o)

Five places you have lived

Brisbane (various suburbs though)

Townsville

Sydney

Haven’t got to number 4 or

yet!

Five jobs you’ve had

Office Manager

Commercial Bank Teller

Property Manager

Night Filler

Checkout Chick

How did you name your blog?

When we were blogging on blogger, we were Where the Sites Have No Name, mainly because Marc couldn’t think of a decent name on the spot while creating the account, and it stuck – up until the end of 2004. We found it really hard to come up with a name for our blog, especially since we knew the content was going to be so varied, but mainly focused around us as a family, so we became Harveys at Home and have been ever since – no matter where that home happens to be.

Ok, so I’m going to tag:

Cath at Johnsen and Johnsen

Sharon at BeelzeBub and Family and

Fantastagirl at The Adventures of Fantastagirl

As always, there’s no pressure to complete the meme, and anyone else who would like to do it, please just add a comment in and I’ll link you to this post.

Since I’ve got more time on my hands available to maintain our blog among other things, like doing the washing more baking/cooking I’m going to start posting recipes on The Cookbook blog again.

I’d rather keep (and share) all my tried and loved recipes in one place, and what more convenient spot that on a blog that was built specifically for that purpose! Even though we (all the contributors) haven’t posted anything new for a very, very long time (more than twelve months in fact!) I still find I use the blog as a reference for all the recipes that we have previously posted.

My first new post on the old blog is Sultana Lunch Cake, complete with picture of finished product :o)

Well the story goes like this. With a couple of days to go before leaving Brisbane Meegan wanted to change the theme for the website. This didn’t leave time to have a really good look for a new theme, or to modify it to really suit our needs. So we quickly picked one, uploaded it and left it at that.

So today Meegs reminded me that we needed to add the photo link and the webmail link back to the theme. I start adding these back in manually, realise that I really don’t like the theme and think to myself, why modify a theme I don’t like. So here’s the new one. Hope you like it Meegs :)

When we get settled we’ll update the photos and I’ll play with this theme a bit more. But for now at least this one seems to be doing what we want it to do.

BTW, can anyone who has my mobile number please delete it out of your phone etc. I have a new number (and finally a decent phone) which I’m not going to post here. Shoot us an email if you want the new one.

counter and said, ‘Hi. You know, I just HATE drawing welfare. I’d really
rather have a job.’

The worker behind the counter said, ‘Your timing is excellent.
We just got a job opening from a very wealthy old man who wants a
chauffeur and bodyguard for his beautiful 30 year old daughter.

You’ll have to drive around in his Mercedes, and he’ll supply all of
your clothes.

Because of the long hours, meals will be provided. You’ll be expected to
escort the daughter on her overseas holiday trips and you will have to
satisfy her sexual urges. You’ll be provided a two-bedroom apartment
above the garage. The salary is $200,000 a year.’

The guy, wide-eyed, said, ‘You’re bullshittin’ me!’
The Centerlink worker said, ‘Yeah, well . . . you started it.’
