This past weekend, Meegan2 made hers a long one, and flew down to NSW for a short visit.
We made the most of our time by staying up late, catching up, eating heaps, talking, playing with the boys, fitting in some retail therapy, more eating, and some more talking!!!

We were all sad to see her make her flight on Sunday afternoon (she nearly didn’t!!!) but I’m sure Meegs2 will be back soon :)
Well, I hope so anyway!

Missing that girl that came on the plane. Already!

It took Owen almost 5 days to call Lauren her actual name consistently. Before that it was any, or a combination of the following:

That girl
Her
She
The lady, you know her name, don’t you?
The girl that came on the plane
That girl in Nana’s room (not really Nana’s room, just the spare one!)
That girl who’s staying with us…

It was amusing for the most part, but we were all quite happy when he finally tired of the game and decided to use Lauren’s name, and not all of the above!

Anyway, Lauren’s punishment holiday with us came to and end yesterday afternoon. We all miss her already! Owen told me he missed her before we even got out of the airport…

To Manly on a ferry, one more touristy thing to cross of the list

Yesterday, a bunch of us braved the heat wave and took the ferry from Circular Quay to Manly. Our little party consisted of: Michael, Lauren, Brett, Laura, Isabelle, Marc, Owen, Reuben and me. We all made the trek in the 40 degree heat that was Saturday to spend the day at Manly, soaking up the atmosphere of the beach and to cross another few things off our Sydney To Do List…

catch the ferry to Manly (apparently this is THE thing to do on the weekend)
see the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House from the harbour
eat fish and chips followed by and ice cream at Manly.

Done, done and done :) And we got to do all of the above with a great bunch of family and friends!

We snagged a spot in the shade and watched some of the surf carnival.

Owen couldn’t resist the lure of the ocean.

Getting some culture – Sydney style

Today Lauren, Reuben and I went to the Art Gallery of New South Wales to suck up some culture and see the Monet and The Impressionists exhibition. Unfortunately we weren’t allowed to take photos in either exhibits, so you’ll just have to make do with these few photos from our day…
