Advent Calendar 2010

Who decides that November 30 is a great afternoon/night to create, source materials and make an Advent calendar?

Just me :)

And….

It’s done!  Mum and I worked on it for almost three hours last night…  But we are so happy with the result and it even turned out almost exactly like the picture I had in my head!  The flags have a red felt pocket on them – just the right size for one (yes, only one) chocolate coin.  The kids are going to take it in turns to pick each day…  I like to think of it as a lesson is sharing!

Thanks so much for your over-locking skills, Mum :)

I wanted to add that before I made my mind up about this particular creation, I had been pouring over a few different Advent calendars online -

Kelly @ Be a Fun Mum made this awesome envelope one.

Kate @ Picklebums shared this with everyone.  Her Mum is so good too!

Caz @ A Little Learning for Two made this felt and canvas creation.  I’m still thinking about making this one as well.  I love the simplicity and effectiveness of the shapes.

This Lego one would impress the pants off the boys.

Thanks Cath!  Would you believe the boys and I forgot about the calendar almost every second day?!  Even though we all walk past it a million times a day… Actually, that’s probably why!

    That’s fantastic Meegan :)
This is really something the kids can look back on, compared with a dora the explorer one from Woolies.
    Colour me impressed.
