My sister is a florist. You can imagine the hours she worked the week building up to, and on Mother’s Day. Crazy, crazy hours! Mother’s Day is bigger than Valentine’s Day in the Florist’s Calendar. If one exists. I don’t think it does. I’m sure I could Google it and find out…

Anyway, instead of trying to fit in a tiny little bit of time to gather the Carter Mothers together, we all decided that postponing our celebrations until the weekend after Mother’s Day would work out much better. And work in our favour, it did! Mum, Jodie and I met up for lunch at the new cafe on top of Mt Gravatt (delicious!) and then spent a leisurely afternoon browsing the shops and afternoon tea-ing at Garden City. With no children or husbands/fathers in tow. It was wonderful! We all concurred that it was a great way to spend our Non Mother’s Day and will most likely opt to do the same thing in 2011! My apologies for the photos – all I remembered to take pictures of was what we ate for lunch, and a real quick one of the three of us before we ate!

that picture begs the question, who ordered what?
