Today was Owen’s very first day of the rest of his at least next decade and a half – school. Sounds like a long time, doesn’t it? Well I’m positive it will go by in a flash for Marc and I.
As we were all getting ready this morning Owen went from I’M NOT GOING TO PRE SCHOOL EVER! to WHEN ARE WE LEAVING FOR PRE SCHOOL??? Personally, I think this all depended on what he was doing at the time (talking on the phone) or what Marc and I were asking him to go and do (clean his teeth and go to the toilet).
He was all good though, and I’m sure that for two days a week, he will be PERFECT for Miss Jane and her helper, Paris and then a ratbag the rest of the week, just for me… You can’t be good all the time! Marc and I didn’t even get a second glance once he was in the Red Room – they combine the 3 and 4 year olds on a Monday – (in the Green Room on Tuesdays.. must remember that for tomorrow!) with the toys and the pet mouse and the kids, we thought we may as well not hang around because he wasn’t worried whether we were there or not. He hardly had time to say good bye!
As the other kids came in this morning, one of the bigger boys said to Owen, HEY! ARE YOU OWEN? ARE YOU BABY OWEN? This kid was about twice the size of the Boy… I think Owen is going to get quite an education, and not just from Miss Jane! Marc was hoping that he wasn’t going to be the oldest in his room, as he wants him feel what being the “little fish” is like for a while, since he’s the only kid/grandchild/nephew/boss of everything for both our families… I think he got his wish :o)
Pick up time this afternoon will come around way too fast for our big little boy today!
Owen with his pack pack. Yep, that isn’t a typo, it’s not a back pack…

I think even if he was the oldest, he’d still find out what it is like not to be the “big” fish… it’s what happens.
And just wait for but Miss Jane said….
Enjoy this phase – it will be awesome!
