Saturday we had one of those abnormal, up all night night’s with Owen. He wouldn’t settle down, couldn’t get comfortable, wouldn’t stay in his own bed etc etc etc.
At 3am Sunday morning we decided that he needed to go to the doctor as early as possible, which for us is 9am. We could wait that long. Then Marc thought we really all should go. We have all had a particularly nasty cough followed by a cold for the last 3 weeks or so and just haven’t been able to shake it.
So off we go, wait an hour and a bit (no appointments taken on Sunday’s, but we do get to see our regular GP which is a bonus) and all get called in together. Sounded pretty strange, all our names being called out over the normal waiting room deathly silence din.
It turns out we should have decided to go see the GP a lot earlier and not passed all our coughing and running noses off as just a cold. Marc has a sinus infection, Owen has an ear infection and a little mucus on his lungs, and I’ve got a throat infection. So the boys have got antibiotics to clear them up, while I’ve got nothing to help get rid of my throat infection… Gargling with Listerine or salt water is pretty much all I can do to help myself get better. I want the drugs too!!!
Owen had almost a four hour sleep yesterday afternoon and seems to be closer to his usual self today. Lucky, cause today is a preschool day and I want to get stuff done!

Gargle betadine! Tastes like shit, not even the germs like it, but it seems to work.
