6 sleeps and counting

We are so close to moving into our new home, that I’m counting down the sleeps already! OK, well that may not be entirely true (sorry Marc!).  I was counting how many night nappies I had left at Nana’s place for Owen for the rest of our stay in Brisbane.  Would you believe I’m short two nights?!  Argh.  This is not what I was going to write about this morning but is just a bonus thought for those of you who needed to know – which is no one really!  It does kind of tie in with what I was planning on writing about though.

It’s only:

  • six sleeps to go until Owen has his very first plane trip, beating our dear friend Shane to the punch by oh, about 27 years, give or take! (and I’m very glad it’s only a hour and a half flight for his first one)
  • six sleeps to go until we see Marc for the first time in ages,
  • yeah, and it’s only six sleeps until I get to SLEEP IN MY OWN BED!!!

Can you tell I’m just a little excited?  As much as it’s been great staying at Hotel Carter (the service and childcare are excellent!), it’s going to be lovely to have all my own stuff again.  I am not looking forward to leaving the balmy winter weather of Brisbane though… Marc keeps telling me it’s COLD DOWN THERE.  Cold and Meegan don’t really mix that well.  We are, after all, Queenslander’s who prefer the slightly warmer climate of our home state!  Luckily I have a cute brand spanking new red woolen coat to keep me warm and cheery through our first winter in Sydney!  See, there’s usually a silver lining if you look :o)

We have already had a tentative booking at the Harvey B&B for mid June from Uncle Mick who’s got a week long conference thingy to go to in Sydney which is great!  Please just let us know if you’d like to come down and stay, part of the house deal for me was we have a dedicated guest bedroom, making life easier for me and hopefully more comfortable for our guests.  We just need to get a bed to go in the room now!  I hope we will be organised in time for you Mick!

Michelle has told me that the Paddington markets are pretty cool and a great place to pick up some bargains. Your mission, should you chose to accept it, is to spend at least half a day there, and we can compare notes on Paddington vs Queen Victoria Markets. Owen’s gonna love his plane trip! But good luck if you have to take him to the toilet on the plane!
