After not having been to the movies for a while, it was strange to visit the cinemas twice in a matter of days – and not even to see a kids movie! As a bonus I got to spend time with the Girls, eat out at two delicious resturants and have a couple of great nights out.
1. Juno – Meegan2 and I went and saw this one on Saturday night, after Ceylon Inn yummy Indian at Balmoral. I had no expectations what so ever, so really enjoyed the film. In a nut shell, it’s about Juno, a 16 year old who falls pregnant and decides to adopt out the baby to the perfect couple. It’s funny, full of wit, a bit quirky, the characters are great and I would definitely see it again. Oh, and I really liked the sound track for this one too. Rating: 8/10
2. When the previews for 27 Dresses came out, Jane emailed Meegan2 and I way back in November – booking us in for a girls night out for this one. We finally got a chance to see it on Tuesday night, after some yummy Thai, again at Balmoral. Katherine Heigl stars as ’always the bridesmaid, never the bride’. She does a great job in this movie, just as she did in Knocked Up. It’s a no brainer really, just a lovely story with a good ending. Rating: 8.5/10
