Woodgate

IMGP3302.JPGSunday saw Owen, Marc and I driving to Woodgate, a sleepy little beachside town half an hour south of Bundaberg to visit Mum and Dad, Jo and Mick and Joyce and Gordon (who drove all the way from Roma) while they were staying for a weeks worth of beautiful sunshine and pristine beaches.

We sprang into holiday mode almost immediately by heading straight down to the beach for a play in the sand and to soak up the sunshine. In the evening us ‘kids’ (read Jo, Mick, Marc and I) played a few games of boule on the front lawn. Having never played before, I was pretty happy winning a few games off the boys :)

Unfortunately we headed back home on Monday after lunch.

If only we didn’t have to come back for work on Tuesday!

Wow – what a blast from the past. I spent many a holiday in Bundaberg and it’s surrounding beaches. I loved going down for a holiday at Woodgate.

agree totally with libby – woodgate seems to get better every time i visit, although, i think its more to do with me appreciating the slowness, isolativeness (jodie word), and the sheer beauty of less-touched australia!

i look forward to goin up there again – and such a nice drive to!

does libby have family up in bundy?

Yes, my mother grew up there (although in Brisbane now). I lived there and went to school at Bundy West for nearly a year back in the early 80′s. One of my brothers has moved up there with his wife.

I have not been to Woodgate for about 20 years.
