Don’t you hate it when…

Picture the scene, you’ve been away for a night, you arrive home, walk down the hall and look at the fish tank and think,

 ”Where’s the water?”

 ”Ahh, it’s on the floor!!”

That’s what happened this afternoon.  After using every towel, cloth nappy and most other things out of the linen closet we have most of it dried up.  Now we just have to wait for the fans to dry out the rest.

What about the fish I hear you ask.  Well, so far it looks like we have one definate fatality (thought there were two confirmed deaths, but one started swimming again after about two hours of not moving) although there may be more once it all settles down.

The other fatality seems to be the chance of me still having a fish tank in a few weeks.  We’ll wait and see what the aftermath is…..

Oh my…. how did the water get on the floor. I loved having a fish tank but it just became a pain in the end. Good luck…

Looks like the air pump somehow became a syphon and all but emptied the tank.

The search for casualties will continue tonight.

We have a 29 gallon tank and this is my biggest fear – how did it happen?

Somehow the tank triggered the safety switch Monday afternoon. I reset the s/switch and then unplugged the fish tank from the wall. Then went to Mum and Dad’s for the night as Marc was away for the night…
Marc comes home Tuesday afternoon to a house full of fishy water!

And Marc wanted to put the tank in the living room, on carpet…!

The aftermath – Owen is sleeping in his port-a-cot in the living room while his room is WET :)

Despite earlier reports the number of casualties has risen dramatically. At this stage it seems as though there are no survivors.

In related news, it seems as though there is a complete fish tank setup for sale. The package includes, tank, stand, filter, light, heater and plants. The only thing you need to add is water fish and a new air pump (the last one got a bit wet). Any enquiries should be directed to Marc.
